Mentoring Reading Program
“We have established a unique initiative led by teenagers and overseen by adults, dedicated to assisting secondary school students with their academic requirements. This program provides valuable volunteer opportunities, fostering collaboration between international and native-born citizens. Together, participants work on enhancing communication skills, promoting diversity, refining vocabulary, grammar, and reading comprehension abilities, all geared toward achieving academic excellence. Additionally, attendees will acquire effective test-taking strategies to bolster their academic performance.
Moreover, we offer a specialized SOL Support service tailored to address the specific needs of English Language Learners (ELL) in secondary schools. Our distinctive literacy-tutoring program is designed to enhance language proficiency and facilitate academic success for these students.”
Summer Camp
“Celebrating the spirit of learning, our Summer Adventure program spans the months of July and August, offering students a unique opportunity to enrich their reading skills through an engaging exploration of U.S. history.
Each week, participants will immerse themselves in the rich tapestry of American history, delving into captivating stories, significant events, and influential figures. The highlight of every week is a meticulously planned day-long field trip to a historical site in Virginia. These immersive experiences not only reinforce the lessons learned in the classroom but also provide a tangible connection to the past, making history come alive for the participants. Through this Summer Adventure, students not only enhance their reading skills but also develop a profound appreciation for the intricacies of U.S. history.”
